Cassiopeia DT-5200

At first glance, you’d think that Casio’s DT-5200 PDA phone comes with everything you’ll ever need. How does a 3.7” VGA screen, WiFi (802.11b/g), 1 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and a 20 hour battery life sound to you?

It runs on the latest Windows Mobile 5.0 platform and is one tough nut, capable of surviving in extreme temperatures (-10 and +50 C) and will still go on even when dropped from a height of 1.2m. Too bad its huge size could go against it as a portable handheld device. (Publisher: it’s a "transportable mobile device" :-) )

GSM phone Samsung D500

GSM phone Samsung D500

Great review of the Samsung camera phone, the Samsung D500, one of the best camera phones around.

“It is the first time for very long that I write a review with lyrical digressions, thoughts and market observations. The product that prompted telling so much is significant and is a kind of a milestone for the company and the whole mobile market. In some way such words sound too pompously and are more suitable for press releases than for an ordinary review. But only two-three phones a year make you forget everything and “play” with them for long, they really attract from the first minutes. None of the phones of 2004 may compete with Samsung D500 in its power of impression and emotions. So, you’ll have to be patient and try to read everything below. I’ll note that as for me ideal phones do not exist and D500 is not an exception. But this model is the closest to the ideal mobile phones but not a smartphone. Let’s try to understand what made the company create the device now but not a year earlier.”
