Motorola unveiled the new iTunes-enabled RAZR V3i phone on Tuesday, bringing an updated and streamlined brushed-metal design, a large internal color screen, TransFlash card slot, quad-band technology and Bluetooth connectivity. It boasts a 1.23 megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom, video capture and playback capabilities. The current Motorola RAZR line will receive 2 new colors in shades of ice blue and pink, as well as a EVDO-capable RAZR for CDMA networks. Expect to see these releases before 2005 is over.

LG Electronics presents a handset using the SavaJe OS (weird name, really). These slider phone handsets will be available worldwide in 2006 and feature a 176 x 220 color TFT screen, a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, a SD card slot, MP3, AAC, and AAC+ support as well as MPEG4 playback capability. SavaJe OS is an open OS for handsets that is written in Java, enabling easy operator customization via a common software platform. Not a new idea, really.

The Panasonic VS2 claims to be the first GSM phone to offer 16 million colors on its QVGA display. Its sleek clamsheel design is available in Silver, Dark Brown, and Pink. The tri-band VS2 measures 96mm x 46mm x 18.2mm and weighs a mere 98g.
A 1.3 megapixel camera located at the top performs well only when capturing macro shots. You can even snap multi shots of 15 pictures continuously. It supports MP3 playback and comes pre-installed with a copy of Sega’s game: Sonic the Hedgehog.

Motorola Razr V3 review
“The Motorola Razr V3 was the “it” phone of 2004. This supersleek, fashion-friendly mobile rocked the normally staid world of U.S. cell phones when it was released in November for Cingular, and it quickly garnered a huge following despite its sky-high $449 price. But don’t think Motorola is content to rest on its laurels. This week at the 3GSM World Congress in Cannes, France, the company announced three new phones, two of which build on the Razr’s revolutionary design. ”
