LG Electronics presents a handset using the SavaJe OS (weird name, really). These slider phone handsets will be available worldwide in 2006 and feature a 176 x 220 color TFT screen, a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, a SD card slot, MP3, AAC, and AAC+ support as well as MPEG4 playback capability. SavaJe OS is an open OS for handsets that is written in Java, enabling easy operator customization via a common software platform. Not a new idea, really.
