LG VX9800 review

“From time immemorial, Verizon had the most lackluster selection of phones, but their quality of service and fast data offset their tepid handset offerings. This year, Verizon has turned things around with a selection of truly compelling phones that have been released or will be released by Q1 2006. The LG VX9800 is one of those hot new phones, and we’re ecstatic it made it to our shores rather then remaining in Korea, where all the amazing but unobtainable CDMA phones live.”

Panasonic VS6 review

Panasonic VS6 review

“The Panasonic VS6’s unique selling proposition is this - it’s cheap, considering the features on offer. There’s a 2 megapixel digital camera, a high quality 320×240 pixel display in 16 million colours and Bluetooth. It’s quite a slim phone at 21mm thick and it looks quite sleek from the outside. Open the Panasonic VS6 up and it’s unfolds into quite a large handset, which is something these Panasonic handsets have in common with recent Sharp phones. It comes with downloadable Java games, and a version of Sonic the Hedgehog is included. In the UK, the Panasonic VS6 can be had for about 120 (around 190) on prepay.”

A Nokia N90 Camera Phone With Respectable Optics

“The Nokia N90 is a two-megapixel camera phone with a twist. The latest in Nokia’s N-series of multimedia phones, the N90 has camera optics that put a standard point-and-shoot to shame, and it packs a panoply of features into an oddly shaped package.

The N90’s camera, which uses Carl Zeiss optics, is hidden in a lump that protrudes from the back of the open phone. The camera module is hinged, allowing its 2.1-inch color screen to be used as viewfinder for videos and still photos. The camera can even flip around for easy self-portraits or, more ambitiously, video-chat conferences. The phone has a slot for MMC flash memory to store more snaps, along with a 1.5-inch external color screen and support for Bluetooth wireless networking.”
