Like every convention, CEATAC Japan 2005 has its fair share of duds. NTT DoCoMo is currently displaying a concept finger phone that is connected to your finger via a ring. The phone works exactly like a Bluetooth device, except that you’d look pretty ridiculous putting a finger to your ear whenever you need to receive or make a call. Definitely not the phone to use when you’re out to impress a date.

Nokia’s N series come with heavy expectations after all the marketing hype – the N90 is unfortunately an average phone for its generation. Credit must be given to its Carl Zeiss lens for taking some fantastic looking 2 megapixel photos. The multi-config clamshell design and hi-res screen are huge plusses in anyone’s books – it really defies imagination! It's too bad unstable software, bulky size, and a hefty price tag negates what could otherwise be a stellar performance. (specs below)

Looks like more and more products are adopting the Windows Mobile 5.0 OS:
MiTAC has a couple of smartphones will a full GPS navigation software suite thrown in. The stylish white Mio A700 can only be found in the Asian market, while the Mio A701 will be for Europe only. Both smartphones feature a large 2.7” TFT touchscreen, 520MHz (Intel Bulverde PXA-270) processor, 192 MB memory, integrated GPS device with SirfStar III chipset, a 1.3 megapixel camera and Bluetooth 1.2.
